The easiest way to describe That Black Girl Site is as a Huffington Post for black women. It features the latest news and information about the lives of black woman both famous and not so famous as well as witty commentary and helpful advice. It features Corbett’s own blog, That Black Girl Blogging, which takes a critical look at how black woman are perceived in popular culture and is also home to several other blogs that cover such diverse subjects as relationships, beauty and arts and culture. Guest bloggers also contribute their thoughts on a myriad of topics. In addition, the site offers product picks, photos and video galleries that will be of particular interest to black women.
MY BLACK GIRL SITE
With the desire to further promote communication and community among women, Corbett also launched My Black Girl Site, a social networking site specifically for black women. It provides a forum through which they connect with one another, share information and interests as well as start conversations of their own. The site features a section called “Kitchen Table” where sisters are free to discuss a variety of issues virtually—the same way they might sitting around with friends or family.
Created as a forum for in-depth conversations, That Black Girl Radio Show, covers both the things black women need to know more about as well as the things they want to know about. Corbett invites a diverse array of guests to chat with her about such varying subjects as health, money, fashion, beauty, the arts, books, careers, and music. And with her down-to-earth approach, she ensures that her listeners are both entertained and informed.
